Challenge

Lori Shipp, owner of Vive Pilates + Motion, contacted Shane Bull through his website and described herself as a first-time lessee in need of commercial property representation.  Being new to the process, Shipp required extra guidance throughout the entire commercial real estate leasing process.  

What Shipp lacked in leasing knowledge however, she made up for in professional expertise.   She is a third-generation Pure Classical Pilates instructor with direct training lineage from Joseph and Clara Pilates.  She invested a lot of time, energy and thought into her business plan and how she was going to make her new business successful. 

Strategic Action

After reviewing Lori’s business plan, Shane decided that what Lori needed in order to make everything come together was to find a location that was convenient for her clients and that fit within her budget.  After touring several properties throughout the Raleigh area, Shane showed Lori space within the Five Points neighborhood.

Five Points is unique in that it is not an individual neighborhood, but a group of neighborhoods—defined by its center rather than its borders.  It is at the intersection of Whitaker Mill, Fairview and Glenwood Avenue that Five Points coalesces into the neighborhood. The fantastic location of Five Points has attracted several young couples and first-time homebuyers to it. Located within minutes of downtown Raleigh, US70, and I540, as well as several restaurants and bars, it’s an ideal location for residents and businesses alike.

Results

Vive Pilates + Motion is now operating a 1,226-square foot space in the attractive Five Points neighborhood.  The studio is already attracting a lot of attention from Five Points’ patrons and residents and is anticipating much success.
